Dazzling Orange Adds Excitement to the Garden
By Kerry Ann Mendez
I don't understand why orange is often snubbed in the garden. Perhaps because to some it can feel too intense? But what garden wouldn't benefit from a dash of excitement? You can always tone down the exuberance by pairing orange with white or cool colors like green, blue, purple or silver.
I encourage you to take a walk on the wild side and plant one (or more) orange-flowering plants in your garden or container. This rich, cheerful color will add a skip to your garden step!
Below are some sunny perennial choices that we offer at Estabrook's.
Geum 'Totally Tangerine'
Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed)
Hemerocallis 'Fire King' (Daylily)
Crocosmia 'Prince of Orange'
Papavar 'Prince of Orange' (Oriental Poppy)
Heliopsis 'Bleeding Hearts' (False Sunflower)
