Clethra (Summersweet)
Once you have experienced the fragrance of Summersweet, you will understand how this lovely, adaptable shrub got its name. Summersweet rules the summer garden blooming from July through August when most other landscape shrubs are past their prime. Lovely small flowers on fuzzy six-inch spikes complement the dark green leaves. A true favorite of gardeners and bees.
